One of the most amazing things about God is that He wants to have a relationship with us. I mean think about it, the God of the universe, who created all things, who made billions of galaxies and is beyond time & space knows exactly who you are, how many hairs are on your head, every tear you’ve ever cried, and wants to talk to you! That’s pretty crazy.

But just like any relationship, sometimes we get distracted. Eventually, distraction leads to distance, and distance leads to a love that has grown cold or even non-existent.

One of the biggest misunderstandings about love is the idea that love is just a feeling. But love is something way more. Love is something that can be nurtured, cared for, and grow. Love is something that can grow into something much deeper than the initial feelings we have when something is brand new. A love like that is a love that is strong and will last.

So during this week, choose to relook at your relationship with God, to put away distractions, and to draw closer to the One who knows you best. Like David who meditated on God’s word day and night, and Joshua who stayed close to God’s presence rather than just leave and do other things, or Hannah who brought her heart to God with tears and God answered her, be someone who pursues God… God promises that He will answer.

Devotional Scriptures

“I know your works, your labor, your a]”>[a (https://www NULL.biblegateway NULL.com/passage/?search=Revelation+2%3A2-5&version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-30720a)]patience, and that you cannot b]”>[b (https://www NULL.biblegateway NULL.com/passage/?search=Revelation+2%3A2-5&version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-30720b)]bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary. Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.

Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
    whatever they do prospers.

11 So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle.

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
